Now, one thing I did discover. The "Evil's Bane" blade I used as a base for the elven warrior sword has an odd shape. Rather than an even curve, it "hooks" at the end. That means I needed to remove some of the rear of the scabbard so I could get the blade in and out:

And here's the sword itself, also in process. The handle is cocobolo, which looks pretty, but is a BEAR to work with! I don't get the skin rash some folks do working with it, but I still go into sneezing fits everytime I take it to the sander. Yuck! I think I'll be finding a different wood to work in on my next project whatever it is:
